Limerick Docklands Regeneration |
On the site there are two large derelict buildings, an old grain mill and silo. I proposed
that these large scale buildings could be used for recreational purposes for the area. These would serve the community and also bring an element of accessibility to the dock area. Both buildings would dictate
the function that they would contain.
Units are grouped in four and have a shared green space. The grouping of the units allow for more accessibility between the different avenues and these spaces act as social spaces for the residents, particularly younger residents. All of the units can be adapted to live/work units. The units are all designed with the ground floor acting as the main social space. The living space and kitchen space both open out to an outside space. This outside space links both areas together and forms the focal point of the unit. |
